This is another dream place which I seen on television a few years back. I did not visit during summer as winter is way way more beautiful. Let start the journey from the day time.

Here we can see the history of the garden of morning calm but mostly in korean ...

Different parts of the garden

Small part of the garden still in green :)

Day time

During the day time, it is already very nice with against the beautiful mountain and clear blue sky :)
There is also a cafe nearby which you can sit down and enjoy tea/coffee while waiting for the night time.

Let the Magical moment begins :)

Welcome to Heaven :)  This place is just too beautiful with all different lighting ranging from plants to animals and even angel ^^ I really love the lightning especially the small church with 2 angels by the side. There is also pumpkin carriage lighting like Cinderella story but it is too crowded to take nice photo of it. Really hope to bring my future partner to this beautiful place :p

However, do take note that it can be really crowded so set a location to meet when you get separated from your friends. Another thing to take note for the last shuttle bus timing is 7:30pm so better get to the bus stop early in order to board the bus. Another option would be booking the resort/hotel around this area if you intend to stay late.

Bukhansan national park

Location: 경기 의정부시 망월로 Mangwol-ro, Uijeongbu-si, Gyeonggi-do

Operating hours: Open all year round except night hiking prohibited

How to get there: As there are lot of hiking trails which start at different points, you would have to go to different hiking center. We are going for the bukhansanseong fortress course so it would be Bukhansanseong hiking support center. For more information on the hiking trail, you can visit the official website.

Finally, I am here :) I did plan for hiking in bukhansan national park in my first Korea trip but did not go ahead as my friends are sick of hiking (hallasan in Jeju, Geumejeong mountain fortress in Busan and namhansanseong provincial park). I am quite thankful that my sister willing to accompany me to hike as it is not an easy task.

Hiking in winter is quite different from other reasons as there are snow which can be quite slippery. My sister and I was not quite well prepared and we almost slipped a few time. In the end, we only climbed 2/3 of our journey before giving up... It is important to get real hiking shoe or those shoe spikes which can be simply fixed on the shoe. It usually costs around 4000 won.

Other things to take note:

  • Thicken clothing as the temperature on the mountain is much colder compared to Seoul city
  • Bring lot of water even though it is winter, you still can get dehydrated
  • Bring some snacks as long as you will definitely get hungry along the way.
  • Comfortable pair of hiking shoes
  • Camera or handphone to take nice photos :)

Some of the nice photos which I took along the way. The scenery is really breathtaking and make me more determine to conquer other hiking places in the world. Hope to try Mount Seorak and even more Mount Everest base camp trek in the future.

Hello Kitty cafe @Sinchon

Location: 서울시 서대문구 명물길 36-6

Operating hours: 11am-11pm

I am not Hello Kitty fan though just bringing my sister around Seoul since it is her first time here. Previously, I have blogged about hello kitty cafe located at hyehwa station but I have noticed it has closed now. This time, I would blog about this hello kitty cafe located at Sinchon :)

Cute little entrance to the cafe

Menu of the cafe

See the design of the desserts you will get :p

Once you place your order, you will get this hello kitty buzzer which will notice you while you can sit down or explore around the cafe.

The hello kitty shape waffle with latte drink.

*Not all drinks have the hello kitty design so remember to choose the right drink if u want to take nice photos

Cosy seats for friends to chillax

Every part of the cafe is specially designed with lot of hello kitty decorations.

There is also outdoor seats but the winter is just too cold to sit outside...

For those who are a crazy fan of Hello Kitty, you can even buy merchandise over here.

Overall, it is a nice cafe to chillax especially after a long day of shopping at nearby Ewha woman university street and Sinchon. It is also a popular place for couple to go dating as I saw quite a few couples over here.
